In 1992, network planning, design and installation was nothing new to Mouseworks - the director of the company, Mr. Glen Elliott, having completed his formal computer qualifications in mainframe operations in 1983 and subsequent Novell Netware certification in 1989/90. A change from working with Novell systems was needed.
Mouseworks commenced in 1992 as a service to the publishing industry - providing support for Intel based systems and later network connectivity to high-end image setters. This close association with the problems of Apple and Intel based networking naturally led Mouseworks to being one of the first companies in Australia to embrace Microsoft's new Windows NT.
Initial testing with early betas of 3.0/3.1 gave the company a unique grounding in NT and Mouseworks has continued to lead with innovative solutions based around Microsoft's flagship product. Our company's experience in NT is rarely matched within Australia.
Mouseworks began rollouts of Windows NT to the publishing industry upon the release of Windows NT version 3.1 and as interest in Windows NT accelerated, NT solutions were developed for other sectors of the market. The demand for network services grew and now the company focus is firmly on providing consultant services to the computer industry.
As Microsoft developed new products, Mouseworks kept pace with beta testing of Windows'95 & 98, Microsoft Exchange, all versions of NT and more recently, Windows2003
& Vista. Along the way, the company has provided network services to very diverse groups, from printers to police, and we have participated in a number of Microsoft initiatives.
